This Should Be Good

Will Ferrell is going to take his Bush impression to Broadway.

The "Saturday Night Live" veteran will star in "You're Welcome America: A Final Night With George W. Bush" at New York's Cort Theater, with previews in line for Inauguration Day.

The show will take a chronological look at Bush's life -- from his college days and time as the governor of Texas to the 2000 race for president and his two terms in office.

The show will premiere on February 5 and run through March 15. HBO has also picked up the show, to air live on an undetermined date.

It should be a good show. I've always liked Ferrell's Bush impressions.

Returning From Where I Came

After two-and-a-half-weeks of nothingness, I return to Houston.

I kind of feel zombie-ish at the moment.

California was awesome. It was the rest I've needed for a few years now. It involved (in no particular order):
1) Sleeping from whenever till whenever - absolutely no schedule. I think the only time I actually had to get up and do something was when I went golfing with my former co-workers. Aside from that, I just decided to wake up when I wanted to. It was like the scene from Office Space.

2) Drinking and hanging with friends - almost every night was spent at the bar, seeing old friends and having drinks. This is, in no way whatsoever, the way I would want to spend the rest of my life (meaning drinking daily or almost-daily), but it was so nice to see all of these people whom I used to be so close to. And it was good to know they still have a lot of love for me. If you're on myspace (or facebook to some extent), you've seen some of the photos. I love those guys.

3) Zero Stress - didn't do it if I didn't want to. If the phone rang and I didn't feel like answering it, I didn't. If I didn't feel like going somewhere I didn't. Amazing feeling to just be able to sit (even to the point of extreme boredom).

4) Excessive Amounts of the Wire - I stand by this statement: The Wire is easily one of the top 5 greatest shows of all time. Those who have watched it will likely agree. Jeff threw down half on the box set at Best Buy (which was on huge discount). It was one of the coolest presents I've ever gotten. So I proceeded to watch seasons 2-4 all over again (mind you, I'd been watching season 5 again out of boredom before I got the box set).

5) Family - it's always been the immediate family, but I love them so much. Mass amounts of time catching up with Mom and Dad (and a little bit with my sister) and of course, the dog (who's like my parent's new kid) Lobo.

Well, that was a brief look into the last few weeks of my life. I saw a lot of people (and there were even more that I didn't see, but what else is new) and had a lot of fun. Can't do it forever, and it's good to be home to my bed, Brooke, Houston peeps, video games, TV, a car, work, the gym (which I so desperately need), etc.

Why This Flight Back to the H Will Suck

There were about 6 child strollers in the boarding area. There are about 15 kids strewn about the cabin of the plane in various areas (making it hard to find a quiet place). Mismatched, dirty ear plugs in my backpack have never been so appreciated.

DC Stand Up

I loathe Lebron. And he's been written about a lot on here.

Last night Lebron got called for a travel on a potential game tying play against the Wizards. And he nearly cried on the court. Guess when you're "King James" things just usually go your way. Well Lebron, not this time.

Dan Steinberg's DC Sports Blog has the coverage on Lebron's beef with Deshawn "I Can't Feel My Face" Stevenson, and what a crab dribble is (it's about as lame as it sounds).

"I don't know what he said I did," James said. "I was trying to get an explanation from him but he ended up running to the other side of the floor. It was a bad call. Like I said, I watched it in the [locker] room. I took a crab dribble, which is a hesitation dribble, and then two steps. Everybody, you all guys can watch it. The bad part about it was I was able to finish at the rim with contact, so it would have been a three-point play. So it's tough."

Caron on the call.

"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't think they were gonna call it," Caron said. "You know, two years ago, looking in hindsight, it was the same thing that happened in the playoffs. And we get that call, who knows what would have happened with everybody healthy. But that was one of them situations in which a great player made a move, good officiation, and they called the call. And I was just like, 'Aw, man. There is a God. There is a God.' "

And finally, Deshawn on Lebron (who was apparently heckling Lebron from the bench)

"I don't care," DeShawn said. "It's whatever. I don't like him. I don't like that dude."

In other news, this girl in the airport next to me is really annoying and doesn't understand: a) airport delays, and b) how connecting flights work. How she continues to live will probably amaze me for the next few hours.

Three people with a healthy obsession for cellphones; that’s all it took to start Rentobile, a young company that rents popular handsets to U.S. consumers who want a shiny new device, but are stuck in the middle of a lengthy contract.

Two years was much too long for Seungcheol Lee, one of Rentobile’s partners, to wait to get his hands on a different handset. Lee and Rentobile’s two other partners, all of whom all spring from design and graphics backgrounds, decided to take their love of the latest technology and turn it into a business plan. The company is not a mobile operator; it doesn’t offer service plans, usage charges, etc.

Hell of an idea. Lets hope they keep expanding.
