A Panda and a Puppy

As a founding member of the panda buddy system, I find myself getting entertaining emails. Also, as a person who likes dogs, I get pictures of dogs emailed to me on occasion. Apparently one panda went on a trek today with Jim to go get coffee. The panda returned with photos of a little chocolate Labrador. Unfortunately, this panda (me) was sleeping snoring underneath a desk in the library and couldn't immediately celebrate the photographic awesomeness of it all. But after hibernating, I awoke to some photos in my inbox. Enjoy

Big Ticket is Kind of a BIG JERK

Look at him, he's about to dunk on poor Glen "Big Baby" Davis' head. And that's his own teammate. What a jerk (yes, my lazy attempt at photoshopping a picture consisted of two searches, once cut, one paste, and a drag).

Actually, KG apparently yelled at the bench after they played an abysmally and blew the C's lead over the Trailblazers last night. The starters had to come back in and save the lowly bench.

Garnett had his own issues with Big Baby. After getting some tough love from KG when the C’s backups got worked over in the aforementioned Portland run, Baby had a meltdown on the bench and was literally crying and screaming at people …
I don't know what's worse: making your own teammate cry, or the fact that your own teammate cried. Said Garnett after the game:
We gotta stay together man....I'm trying to inspire the guys, make sure we stay together that's all
Yes, inspire them by making them cry. I know whenever I need inspiration, I ask my friends to yell at me and say hurtful thing. Only then, when the tears are shed, am I at my best. The problem always seems to be that I can't see anything through the tears.

The reporter went on to ask KG about what he'd say to Big Baby.

I'll probably get real deep with him, try to understand what he('s) going through right now.
Kevin, I'm not a detective, scientist or a psychologist; I'm just a lazy blogger. But I'm pretty sure you hurt the kid's feelings. Also, you caused him to cry on national TV, meaning you probably said something pretty jacked up. But then again, you're KG and you've turned into an arrogant jackass.

THE.BEST.MUSIC.VIDEO.EVER.

Journey,"Separate Ways." I command you to love it.

Office Space Bunnies

Dedicated to Julio, who wants to prank "Milton."

Water balloons ain't such a bad idea buddy.

Run Juice, RUN...

...straight to prison.

Ya' done SON.

OJ got 15 years today. And while it's not enough karmic retribution for alleged crimes of the past, it's something.

We're sitting in the library, laughing about what a retard OJ is. I mean, really, he dodged such a bullet back in the day. And then he got into trouble again. So in addition to the fifteen years, he should get kicked in the nuts, once a day, everyday for the length of his sentence for being a douchebag.

Thankfully, the transcript from the sentencing has been published.

Here's the highlights.

"I stand here today sorry, somewhat confused. I feel apologetic to people of state of Nevada."
Read: How do I not get immunity for being OJ? It worked last time....
OJ, you took a gun into a room and held a memorabilia collector up.
"I didn't want to steal anything from anybody,"
Ummm....your actions indicated otherwise. I think OJ's definition of "steal" is a little different than the one those of us with "morals" have.
"I just wanted my personal things. I was stupid. I'm sorry. I didn't know I was doing anything illegal. I thought I was confronting friends. I thought I was retrieving my things. I didn't mean to hurt anybody and I didn't mean to steal anything"
READ: I confront people I like with weapons all of the time. That's how I confronted....oh, wait. Stupid OJ, stupid, stop revealing the truth...
Really? Confronting friends. With a gun?

Thankfully, the Judge stepped in to correct OJ on where he was a bit retarded misguided in his remorse.

"Everything in this case was on tape...And its your own words, Mr. Simpson, you own words ... that that brought you here to this seat in my courtroom. The evidence in this case was overwhelming...You went to the room. You took guns. You used force. You took property, and in this state, that amounts to robbery with the use of a deadly weapon."

This further solidifies the notion that OJ has no conscience, or recollection of reality.

Time to pay the piper Juice.

Things to Do While at the Gym

I can't go to the gym. Why? Cause I'm trapped in the library studying. But that doesn't mean I can't make myself feel better about it by watching people at the gym.

Hey Dumb Collectors, GET THIS

Yes, it's just a basketball.

What the hell?!

Yes, a Yao Ming Transformer. This has almost zero to do with basketball aside from Yao Ming being inside, and originally being shaped like a basketball.

Did you ever want to see your heroes being "transformed?"
What's next? A Hibachi - Gilbert Arenas transformer? "Hey Billy, look at that indiscreet hibachi grill sitting on the street." (mechanical noises) "Billy!!! that's not just a hibachi grill, it's Gilbert Arenas the transformer!" "Bobby, I think he's an Deceptacon, we should run!"

And what would a Shaq transformer look like? Maybe a Big Sceptic Tank....or a Big Diesel truck (screams unoriginal), or a Big Cactus. Or just Grimace.

Colbert vs. Kanye

Kanye West

I didn't really know how to feel about 808's and Hearbreak, especially considering I hate the Auto-Tune movement (see Akon, T-Pain, Lil Wayne + T-Pain = T Wayne, that song that Snoop Dogg did, that was funny but kind of got old fast).

I heard a few of the songs a while back, both the first and second version of Heartless, and a few others.

Then I got the album. And I was still confused.

And then Kanye came out with the "I'm the voice of this generation" comment.

Stephen Colbert said it best the other day
"With all the auto-tuning on your records, you're barely the voice of your own albums," Colbert explained. "You want to be the voice of a generation? Get in line. It goes me, Obama Girl, the freecreditreport.com guys - then it's a tie between you and Crocs."

Hilarious. But after a few whirls, it's grown on me. I'll say this, if it wasn't Kanye making this album, no one would be listening to it. It's like he gets a creative pass. But songs like "Paranoid," "Robocop," (yes Annabeth, I attribute this song to you) and "Street Lights" are amazing.

The album has a lot of low-points in my opinion. It's not his best work, but it is art nonetheless, which Kanye said was his intention.

Pitchfork has a good review on it. What was the point of this post? I dunno. Listen to the album and judge it for yourself, I'm too lazy to write anything else.

Scab

My old roommate Drew (or Dru Down, as I called him) and I used to watch the Celts games on TV when we were living in MA. They were on all the time of course (big ups to NESN, I miss the Sox games). Back then (all of three years ago) they were terrible and the games were pretty tough to watch, but I liked Rondo so I dealt with it (this is when they had SeaBass, Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, and a few other guys who I don't care to look up right now). We used to laugh at Brian Scalabrine and what a horrible player he was/is. We even decided to start calling him "Scab," and not as a term of endearment. He just isn't good. And since the Big Three entered the scene, he gets nearly zero tick (which is what he deserves). Unfortunately he takes up a roster spot, and he apparently has a FIVE YEAR, FIFTEEN MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT. Ughhh....and here I am, in law school.

But now Scab has a theme song, and it's truly awesome.

Tis the Season....

Candy Canes Can Kill You....

...if they're giant lawn decorations.

When a drunken neighbor came over and threatened his Thanksgiving guests with a kitchen knife, one Del Paso Heights man allegedly took matters - and a plastic candy cane - into his own hands.

In what police said was self-defense, the man used the two-foot plastic lawn decoration to beat 49-year-old Donald Kercell until police could take Kercell into custody, said Sacramento Police spokesman Sgt. Norm Leong.

This screams awesomely awesome.

Thanks for the link sis!
