This Blog is the Symbol of Neglect

Somehow I've allowed this blog to spiral out of control. I stopped caring about being "insightful" (or attempting to appear insightful). I replaced creative writing with posting music videos. I started two other blogs -- one which never took off ("I had such [high] hopes for us" -- Jimmy McNulty) and the other under a pen name, which has not been disclosed to the general public, nor will it be disclosed on here.

Is this blog dead? No. But it's certainly on its last leg. Plus I'm studying for the bar. And trying to pretend like I have a bit of a social life. I think we're amidst an on-going hiatus. But then again, I say that and then I'll post 5 different things in the next week. Just you watch. I'm a maverick like that . . . (I'm embarrassed as I write that). And who are you to complain? I gave you that amazing Dr. Dog video. I'm going to go listen to that now.

Does it have the Dell Media Direct Button?

Have you ever had the error NTLDR is missing?

It really sucks, particularly because your computer becomes a brick and won't start. Then you think you have to wipe everything out and start over again. Which is what I did a few weeks ago. At 2AM when it happened.

Turned out there's an easier solution that it appears only one dude writes about. Every other jackass website says you have to put the Windows disc back in and try and correct things. Not the case if you pressed the Dell Media Direct Button.

When you press this little button, the system rewrites the MBR on the primary disk, and causes the system to boot to a different partition (one which theoretically should contain the Media Direct application). If that partition does not exist, you get an apparently bricked laptop.The good news is, that if you press the button again, then the changes to the MBR get reverted - may need a subsequent reboot - and you should be able to get back into windows

Yup, that's all you have to do. I know, because I pressed the stupid button again last night and just got absolutely angry with myself. But thankfully I found this guy's page and all was not lost. Tipping my hat to you right now, sir.

I Love Big Papi

Since I'm poor, I'll likely wait till he's released at some point during the season before I buy his jersey - it will then be discounted. But in the meantime, I still love this commercial. It's been out since I was in undergrad, meaning it's been around at least since 2007. Still makes me chuckle - yes, chuckle.

Trya Pranks

This is the dumbest thing I've seen in a long time. It's soaking in second-hand embarrassment.

The premise is that Tyra was supposedly bitten by a dog (if I was a dog, I'd maul her for wearing that clown costume she has on). So she decides to prank the audience. Sneaky, sneaky Tyra. She stops her opening monologue and turns around to drink a bottle of water. Then sits down, and pretends to foam at the mouth and barks at the audience. Yes, it's as ridiculous and bad as it sounds, and all features Tyra's awful acting to boot.

That Was Quick

Tim Welch joined the Hofstra University March 31 as the new men's basketball head coach. Three days ago he was cited for a DUI somewhere in Levittown, Long Island. Today, he resigned.

So before even coaching a game, or really doing anything meaningful, he's gone. Tip o' the hat. Mr. Welch. Back to ESPN ya' go.

Phoenix and Two Door Cinema Club

Elizabeth and I took in Two Door Cinema Club and Phoenix on Friday night. It was pretty much the dopest way for our two-person music club to close out our law school careers together. After taking a few drinks at school then traversing across downtown on an already-humid southern Texas night, we made it.

Two Door Cinema Club was awesome. I highly recommend checking them out. Great recommendation by LSBFFL (Elizabeth). Phoenix was also spectacular. I've been wanting to see them since last summer, but my horrendous schedule was entirely too prohibitive. Definitely glad I made time to go out and have a normal life.
