This is a Heartwarmer

Brooke sent me a link to a news story yesterday.

Tucker, you're the dopest elephant I've seen.

Tucker the elephant is three years old and has been at the Houston Zoo for about a month with this mother, Tess. Sunday, when it was clear the storm threat had passed and employees were removing tree debris from zoo grounds, the elephant keepers invited Tucker to help.

The young elephant readily accepted and accompanied his keepers to two spots in the zoo not far from the McNair Asian Elephant habitat. He picked up some tree debris, helped with some sweeping up and then went back to the barn to share his experience with his mother and the rest of the herd.

Pretty much a baller of an elephant. But I still want to own a helper chimp.

Surveying the Damage

Took a walk today to see what was going on around me. Clearly, a lot of people around me got it bad. Keep them in your prayers. Thankfully, it seemed that everyone was safe.

Alive and Well: The Aftermath

I'm not getting very good phone reception right now, but everything else is just fine. Power, internet, cable....it's like nothing happened.

But elsewhere people are struggling. I was fortunate to be in an area that didn't get hit too hard. But just down the street? Flooding, fallen trees....just bad news. Please keep everyone in your prayers. Below are the photos of right before the storm and the aftermath of the storm.
