Doctors Getting Dumber?

http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/87251

Dr. Jared Block has to take the cake for "worst Doctor of all time." Yes, worse than Kevorkian. No, Jared Block is a Dr. in Oregon who is pushing for "Internet Addiction" to be included in Psychiatry's official handbook of mental illnesses. Really? Internet Addiction? Block expresses internet addiction as "excessive gaming, sexual pre-occupations, and email/text messaging." Block also claims that "tech junkies" experience debilitating cravings and a strong desire for better equipment.

Someone needs to disbar this guy. Has he ever thought that perhaps society is filled with a bunch of whiny, "where's my bottle types?" Internet addiction is not an addiction!! It's a cop out and it gives people an opportunity to use another excuse. "Oh, I'm sorry ma'am, I wasn't paying attention. I have ADD," now becomes, "I can't help it. I have an internet addiction! I've been diagnosed, seriously. I've just gotta go get online right now."
