Cruisin for a Newsin

Checking out news that's going on:

Walgreens cannot sell cigarettes in San Francisco.

I love CA, but my professor is right, it's the land of fruits and nuts. This is just retarded. Is SF turning into a fascist city?

Sarah Palin reads everything to keep up" with what's going on.

Rather than getting into things like boring specifics, Palin kept it vague. When asked by Katie Couric what she reads to keep up to date with what's going on, Plain responded that she reads everything.

McCain will now have a different answer.

McCain is apparently selling off one of his homes. Now the number will have to change when he's asked how many homes he owns. The house has a 6-car garage, and AN EXTRA GARAGE. There's nothing wrong with having nice things. Hell, if you've earned it, go for it. But whoever designed this house is a moron. A well-planned design would remove the need for AN EXTRA GARAGE. I've never thought to myself, "you know what I could really use? An EXTRA GARAGE." In summation, the architect should be punched in the throat.

Family Receives $28 million for Big Dig Accident

Back in 2006, part of a tunnel collapsed on a woman's car in Boston, killing her. It was pretty sad and pretty scary. The Big Dig was Boston's move to put all of the city's highways underground. It took something like 10 extra years and millions (probably billions) of dollars more than originally anticipated. If I recall, Senator Ted Kennedy even asked for federal funds to aid the project. There are also major rumors that the project was the last big organized crime job. Regardless, driving in the tunnels freaked me out. Especially when word came out that there were air pockets in the cement because it was done wrong, and that there were leaks in various areas. So...at least if you're killed in the tunnels, your family is getting paid.

PIRATES!

People laugh when I make pirate jokes. But pirates are very real and still a threat. In fact, if I made a top-10 list of modern threats, they would probably make the "honorable mention" list. So off the coast of Somolia (hey, there's another place we tried to help that is in shambles), pirates have apparently hijacked a Ukranian ship. But this isn't an ordinary Ukranian ship. This one happens to have 33 T-72 tanks, rifles, and heavy weapons, which apparently includes rocket launchers. The pirates want $20 million for the ship. What happened to just wanting to search for burried treasure? What happened to pillaging and burning?

Robin Meade is hot.

Okay, this isn't news. I was just watching the news with her on it, and I thought I'd share with the readership how hot Robin Meade is. Not exactly a great newscaster, but at least pleasant on the eyes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1G-3laJJP0 VS your CNN Libreal Hottie...if the sound is off, what does it matter?
Pirates...Raiders...Buccanneers...Rogues...the world is a dangerous place mix that with desperation, lack of morals and mafia type bravado...you are going to have these types of problems.
Bostonians get screwed again by the government and the mob.
I like how you penalize McCain for having money and houses that originate from his wife's money. Money that was earned by her family. He didn't want to answer because if he said 5 and it was 6, he would look stupid. If he said 6 and it was 5 he would look stupid. The fact of the matter probably is that he doesn't manage these issues. Probably doesn't know or care and probably doesn't visit each one of those homes on a regular basis. Do you think that the Kennedys know all of the holdings and properties that they own? It is so far out of our realm of experience that I don't think that we can actually understand it. When you go to the casino or even Wall St., you put your money with the guy who has a lot of money. Not the guy on the end of the table, smoking a cigarette, glassy eyed and with one chip.
Palin/Biden Oct 2nd...if you are right, then you are right. If John McCain and I are right, I expect to see that here on your blog!
SF...who cares? They gave us Pelosi!

I really think it's funny more than anything that people harp on McCain for not knowing. Realistically, I don't care. Although it does look a little odd when people can't inventory what they own. On a smaller scale, I think it's ordinary. I was making light of it, and more importantly of the architect who designed a house that needed an EXTRA GARAGE.

However, comparing what Cindy and John own vs. what the Kennedy family owns is a flawed comparison.

Palin v. Biden....there's no such thing as a winner. you will see it from your subjective lens and I will see it through mine.
