Okay That Was Quick - Violence Stole My Attention

Hey Stockton, here's looking at you.

Oh Stockton, you can't avoid the violence (or the foreclosures). Why are you always on a national list for really really crap-tastic things?

What exactly are you on the list for now?

Fifth most violent city in America! AWESOME. AND it's only 2 violent crimes per 100,000 people behind Las Vegas who is barely holding down the #4 spot. We're coming for you Vegas. Stockton's going to take you out, most likely in some violent way.

Miami, Memphis, and Detroit round out the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st spots respectively.

Apparently drug related crime is up, which the Forbes article attributes to Stockton's location on I-5 (high five!) and it's proximity between Seattle and Mexico. Personally, I attribute it to people liking drugs and violence. That's just me though. And I haven't done a "study" on it, or "researched" the "issue" so I guess I'm not considered a credible source of information. Alas, Forbes, you win again.

If it makes you feel any better, my high school is classified as a "drop out factory"...
