A number of recommendations were sent back. Outliers: The Story of Success; The Appeal; Renegade: The Making of a US President; The Power Broker; and Match King. But the most interesting was Lone Survivor. And so out I walked with this book.

Three sittings later, it was finished (As of 4:30 AM today. The fact that I'm on the friday off of my 9/80 made that possible. Also, considering how un-into reading I am, it's amazing that I even: (1) decided to read a book; (2) actually finished the thing; and (3) in 3 days - it was 400-something pages). Was it a good read? Yes. Did I tear up at some points? Yes. Was it a bit over-the-top in terms of patriotism? Yes. But then again, I understand why. And I understand precisely where he's coming from. Some parts are a bit rushed and confusing at times. Parts I would have liked to see expanded upon and more detailed. But all in all, it was a good book. And I have all the respect in the world for Marcus Luttrell.
