Pyongyang claims it launched an experimental communications satellite into orbit Sunday and that it's transmitting data and patriotic songs. U.S. and South Korean officials claim the entire rocket, including whatever payload it was carrying, ended up in the ocean.Yes, you read that correctly. North Korea claims the rocket was successful and the satellite is in space transmitting data and patriotic songs. Seems like they went a long way to play some music. Haven't they heard of Sirius Satellite Radio or XM? Or even Pandora? I suppose they probably don't have a "North Korea Patriot Music Station."
More importantly, shouldn't it be pretty easy to verify if the rocket went into space or if it went into the ocean? I mean, it's a rocket for goodness' sake. It's not like North Korea used a slingshot to launch a few rocks or something and now no one knows what happened to the rocks....
