But today, I found the true epitome of my distaste. Lebron James. Yes, "King James." First of all, I recognize the guy is talented. But the guy is also disgustingly arrogant both on an off the court. He was crowned the "king" before he had even played a game. Again, I realize he is good, and is virtually unstoppable when he drives the lane.
There was the very unsavory moment when he whispered into Gilbert Arenas' ear while Gil was at the free throw line in the playoffs two years ago. I can't find the youtube footage of it, but I recall the post-game interview where Lebron said something to the effect of, "I just told him, if me missed these free throws the game was over." Gee thanks Lebron. You try and play it off like it's nothing but stating the obvious. But going up to someone while they are on the free throw line and whispering in there ear is everything but common. It's just being a bad sport.
Off the court, he's kind of a jerk. Most recently, he was caught speeding. 101 mph in a 65 mph zone. Way to go Lebron.
I avoided posting it, primarily because I was too lazy to finish writing it.
Then this came up. Lebron mania. Fantastic. I hate Lebron. 1) he talks about himself in the third person. 2) he's just not a good person.

Oh yeah, Nike gave out free hot dogs, when the Knicks hosted Cleveland. Throughout New York, people were acting like the messiah had arrived. CALM DOWN.
Then there was the time when he basically said it was lame that fans cared about getting a free
Then there's the time he wore a Yankees hat, despite having been born and raised in Ohio.

He's just an all around d-bag.
Most recently, Lebron has basically said that he's not sure where he's going in 2010 and more or less hinted he's willing to leave Cleveland. While I can see the marketing ploy, it's a little early, and between every major media outlet salivating at his every step, and ESPN nearly having a heart attack when Lebron throws down the same right-handed tomahawk dunk and calling it a "top play" I'm sure the hype will still be there two years from now. Well leave it up to Charles Barkley to tell it like he should.
YES! Thank you. This is why I respect Barkley. Cause he tells it like it is and doesn't play into the whole idea of jocking Lebron to the end of the earth.
"If I was LeBron James, I would shut the hell up," the Hall of Famer said on [Dan] Patrick's show. "I'm a big LeBron fan. He's a stud. You gotta give him his props. I'm getting so annoyed he's talking about what he's going to do in two years. I think it's disrespectful to the game. I think it's disrespectful to the Cavaliers."
Well, Lebron, possessing above-average intelligence fired back recently, saying
"He's stupid. That's all I've got to say about that,"Man, Lebron is so awesome. Even his retaliatory remarks are amazing. I just witnessed amazing right before my eyes. Good one Lebron. You just managed to make yourself sound less intelligent than Charles Barkley, who despite being intelligent, usually sounds like a moron (he's not, he just lack articulation sometimes). In fact, I've heard better come backs from someone, oh I dunno, maybe in the THIRD GRADE. Someone please punch Lebron in his nuts so he can't reproduce. Thanks.
