Another Reason to Hate Flying

I used to love flying. The thrill of getting away from the confines of my ghetto town, or conversely, the thrill of going back to my ghetto town to get away from Massachusetts. But in the recent years, I've lost that thrill and it has instead been replaced by loathe, disgust, hatred, anger, and other words synonymous with the aforementioned. I've been trapped in an airport for 14 hours. I've missed planes, only to be rerouted through 3 different states. I've been bumped off flights, only to have to call someone to pick me up. I've been scolded for no real reason by ticket agents. I never get to sit next to a pretty girl. I've fought for sole control over the armrest which divides the seats. I've slept on the floor of airports. I've had to suffer through flights with multiple screaming children. I've had to be subjected to the annoying passengers sitting near me and their ensuing conversations. I've had my bags kicked by flight attendants. I've been yelled at by flight attendants. I've been knocked into by the snack /beverage carts about 1,568 times while trying to sleep. I've been subjected to turbulence. And most of all, something in the plane's recycled air makes me sneeze when I'm about 1-2 hours away from my destination. Not to mention going through airport security, or the dicks that are the TSA (yes, I know they're keeping our airspace "safe," but they could be friendly, as opposed to complete D-bags).

Well, after that little rant, I've discovered that there are 25 more reasons to hate flying. Now, airlines are starting to charge $25 for your second check-in bag. Yes, $25. So there you go, another reason to hate flying. As if paying for headsets and food while on the plane isn't enough, it's not costing you extra money for a service that was once free. I understand that gas prices are going up. I understand that food is a limited resource, but please, why do you think that you're one of the most hated industries and no one cares when you're filing for bankruptcy. So, suck it airline industry. I hate you: Delta, Northwest, Continental, American, and US Air. Southwest and Jet Blue you're on watch.
